Good Used Cars could have different meaning to each of us. Long time ago as a student I used to be looking for second hand car. Generally speaking a one year old car has lost its value in the vicinity of 30% from the original brand new price.
The older the car the lesser value it has as depreciation accumulated, some brand suffers more, and a few with good dependability record could hold its value better. Rarely though does a number of sports car hold its value well, not because of its dependability but more on the scarcity law.
Car enthusiasts have the tendency to buy Good Used Cars when their warranty expire, with the intention of soup it up and make significant engine modifications. Collector Car on the other hand will keep accumulating potential Used Cars for future investment, but some of them perhaps just for pure hobby and more to the self indulgence reason.
It is not by mere coincident that Leisure Drive has long term fleet of Good Old European Cars. A bit of choices in between, though admittedly toward driving pleasure mixed with the old reliable first generation of open loop ECU cars as well as being affordable.
The Swedish Brick Volvo is regarded by many as being safe, reliable but stodgy. But for Volvo lovers both 700 and 900 series are considered to be Classic Car potential. With lots of owner having driven them close to millionth mileages without any major headache; Volvo went into more dynamic cars in the mid 1990s, unfortunately requiring more effort to maintain.
Leisure Drive is pleased to report that both Volvo have better body integrity than the German sibling, up to now there is no structural body damage due to rust. On the contrary our Bavarian Project Car and 1985 daily drive 300E Mercedes Benz have both shown some metal fatigue, with the rust evidences in the vicinity of front Shock Absorber housing assembly.
Still my favourite drive is the 940T (local market sold this as 960) next to the smooth silken wallop 6 Cylinder Bavarian for much of city commuting purposes, though nothing could beat the hunkering high speed chaser 300E at the toll road as well as the pleasure of comfortable Volvo 740 at walking speed traffic. Mind you most of the street over here is much polluted by pothole, judder bar and bumper to bumper traffic jam.
Hence Leisure Drive sadly announces to let go much of the fleet community except the purposeful automatic black rider due to overcrowded driveway.

If you are searching for affordable used cars, you also need to keep in mind that not all cars will have the same history, so it's best to do your research and check them.
