Car Parts Volvo 740 GLE non Turbo; despite of its abundance in either junkyard or at any Volvo specialists this old Reliable Sedan does need a bit of TLC maintenance effort considering the degree of tear and wear. It is a relieve to know widely available Car Parts for this Swedish Brick Volvo model, yet it is quite a work to keep in tip top shape.
Replacing the worn out Leather seat is perhaps the best way to keep its interior appearance fresh. The 30 odd year gloomy and shabby interior now look inspiring with bright color. Seat alteration yields better aesthetic enhancement whilst providing comfort as a new car feeling.
When there is a reason to drive as often the more obvious hurdle resurfaces to be detected as early as possible, and apparently this is the best way to keep a Volvo reliable. Contrary to the dual tone 740 the black 960 used to be my daily driven car with an occasion Bandung trip at least once a month. It was always a joyous pleasure drive blasting the punishing Cipularang Toll road.
There was no breakdown or engine hurdle at all except two minor embarrassing events. Firstly being locked out with engine and Air conditioning running, secondly suffering flat battery due to loosened out battery terminal. Thank God some one at the Hotel I stayed at had experience to “Break In” saving the day, and I always tucked in a Jumper.
The 740 was much of the time being parked, not because it was an older car but merely being non Turbo as well as having a shift stick. I am just too distracting or perhaps lazy to drive a manual transmission, but blame the traffic jams!
Keeping Reliable Sedan is the important choice and most importantly a trusty workshop garage with extensive Volvo experiences is a must to maintain in peak performance. Unfortunately the 740 has had a rather colourful backyard mechanic touches and now is the perfect moment to let go the car. Two years ago no body even have to look at; at $ 1,000 asking price, this time around we have declined offering at $ 1,400.
