Rolls Royce has unveiled its latest new Ghost armed with in-house developed BMW power plant 6.6 litre Turbo V12 to produce low grunt torque. The flat torque achieves its peak at very low 1500 rpm producing “Diesel” like characteristic of huge 780Nm; resulting exceptionally luxurious and effortless power delivery finesse!
The Ghost will be available in the market by the end of this year (Sept. 2009) for UK and European continent at £165,000 (approx. $245,000 USD in US auto market) and for the rest of the world auto market in the following year. The engine performance will be matched with suitable chassis and suspension development to achieved a well balance composure even if the driver choose to chase a Ferrari; its advanced engineering chassis set up allows the occupants to remain planted on their seating in hard cornering.
There will be ingenious air suspension mated to multilink aluminium suspension system on the Ghost’s four corners preventing the luxury car from pitching and wallowing yet simultaneously also provides comfortable ride refinement on any driving conditions; thanks to its computer controlled ride height as well as active roll stabilization. The latest Ghost will be the new baby sized entry level for Rolls Royce craftsmanship tradition.
Traditionally Rolls Royce has been inherited to conceal its engine performance in the past. Though Rolls Royce has dropped such tradition but fortunately their eerie silent-ness from passenger cabin is completely intact, in addition the Ghost now boasts a new degree of performance dynamics as a bonus; traditional wafting with modern poised composure.
The Ghost is a testament to advanced technology development ever since Rolls Royce introduced the Silver Ghost in 1906; the car earned Silver Ghost nickname due to its ghost like quietness. The light armoured car remained in service up to 1944, though was withdrawn from WW2 in 1941. A pristine 1908 Silver Ghost is reputedly fetched to US $ 35 Millions for its rarity. The new car bearing the evocative name of Ghost would not only strengthen its impressive dependability and refinement but also great flair and style.

It's very expensive! But it's not about the price now is it. Still, if I had the opportunity, I would want to take a ride with a Ghost. =)
