Continuous engineering researches and new advanced metallurgy production process has kept Carlsson alloy wheels to the edge, huge low profile tire with low ultra weight as large as 10×22 inches can tackle a 1,100 kg load capacity to suit the off-road purposes G-Wagen-4. The numeric part denotes most relevant Leisure Drive article numbering.
The new process allows Carlsson to provide higher rigidity strength without brittle side effect yet (a must to withstand the off road pounding harshness) with as much as 40% weight saving bonus on its newly introduced 1/5 EVO wheels.
But if the driving requirements do not dictate heavy off road uses and two wheel driving mode provide adequate safety yet hauling seven passengers with a bit of cargo is the primarily driving objective then Mercedes Benz Wagon is the suitable choice. The G class is cumbersome where as the M class is too small.
When SUV or Cross-over doesn’t fulfil our daily driving need; there is always the traditional Wagon. Apparently unlike US, the European market is still predominantly toward Wagon preferences. The Wagon would offer better sedan like ride and handling than the other two, its monocoque chassis could inherently behave more into dynamics, yet the low mass center gravity certainly will limit commanding views. Commanding views to anticipate the traffic out the front as early as possible would only available on either SUV or Cross-over.
It is only natural that the AMG from the old mill in Affalterbach will be shortly delivering a sport Benz out of a monster 6.2-liter V8 rated at 518hp power plant Wagon, the E63 AMG wagon. If the current sedan sibling has 4.4 seconds to reach 60mph the Wagon should be comfortably within the 5 seconds bracket.
There is no doubt that the other aftermarket tuners will also further tweak this E63 AMG; for example with addition of improved free flow intake and exhaust system as well as some tinkering with Engine Management, Brabus has bumped into 547hp. Where as Carlsson E-CK63 RS not to be outdone is rumoured to have 585hp and most importantly will be fitted also with the ultra low weight 20” REVO wheels.
The latest AMG though has progressed significantly in the area of drive train and traction deployment, much to the delight of enthusiast’s critics, following BMW’s multiple clutch utilization for better response and crisps transmission shifting. AMG has dropped the power sapping torque converter for the new wet multiple clutch system and the fitment of air suspension for rear axle only instead on both for the previous model.
The new transmission combined with intelligent alternator which disengages during hard acceleration has also improve its fuel consumption by 2mpg, but more importantly the auto shifting is now very much instantaneously close to manual shifter if not better.
