The Bavarian car maker has lived its racing pedigree image ever since its successful car racing championship way back in early 1970s. 3.0 CS batmobile as well as 2002 Ti Turbo had won many world titles. Known by its unique wing style design the 3.0 CS was the first taste for BMW on competitive sportsmanship to earn great popularity in 1972. Deeply aware that such popularity was a tool for its brand image development BMW subsequently replaced 3.0CS with smaller yet lighter 2002 Turbo in 1974, the car later on inspired for the introduction of 3 series.

In turn M3 representing the 3 series continued to be another engineering feat achievements, by wining series after series of racing championship right to the beginning of 1990s. Ultimately their marketing buzzword; "The Ultimate Driving Machine" for the era was intensively promoted. These whole range of BMW cars are now the mostly sought after cars as rare as Ford RS500 Cosworth, worthwhile being an invaluable collector car!
